Paper I – Language

Marks: 200 | Duration: 3 Hours

Part 1: General Hindi

  • Essay writing, precis and summarization
  • Letter/application writing and formal correspondence
  • Synonyms, antonyms, idioms, proverbs, phrases, and one-word substitutions
  • Sentence correction, comprehension, translation (Hindi-English and vice versa)
  • Grammar, usage, and vocabulary enrichment

Part 2: General English

  • Comprehension and précis writing
  • Sentence correction and reordering
  • Vocabulary: synonyms, antonyms, idiomatic expressions
  • Grammar: parts of speech, tense, prepositions, active/passive voice

Part 3: Chhattisgarhi Language

  • Comprehension and translation
  • Chhattisgarhi idioms, phrases, riddles, proverbs, songs, folk tales, cultural context
  • Grammar, vocabulary, and usage
  • Important literary figures and regional language structure

Paper II – Essay

Marks: 200 | Duration: 3 Hours

  • Part 1: International and National Issues
    • Candidates must write two essays (750–750 words each) from four given topics related to global and national importance. Each carries 50 marks.
  • Part 2: Issues Related to Chhattisgarh
    • Two essays (750–750 words each) to be written from four state-specific topics. Each essay carries 50 marks.

Part 1: History of India

  • Ancient, medieval, and modern history
  • Major empires, art and culture, socio-religious reform movements
  • Freedom movement and post-independence developments

Part 2: Constitution & Public Administration

  • Indian constitutional development, structure, and features
  • Fundamental rights, DPSPs, judiciary, federalism
  • Administrative theories, governance, public policy, reforms, e-governance

Part 3: History of Chhattisgarh

  • Prehistoric to modern history of Chhattisgarh
  • Local dynasties, Maratha and British rule
  • Freedom struggle, tribal and peasant movements

Paper IV – General Studies II

Marks: 200 | Duration: 3 Hours

Part 1: General Science

  • Basic concepts in physics, chemistry, and biology
  • Everyday applications, environmental science, biotechnology

Part 2: Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability

  • Arithmetic operations, Vedic mathematics, probability, ratio, percentage
  • Data interpretation, mathematical reasoning, analytical puzzles

Part 3: Applied and Behavioural Science

  • Role of IT, energy resources, agricultural sciences
  • Environmental pollution and biodiversity
  • Conservation techniques and ecological awareness

Paper V – General Studies III

Marks: 200 | Duration: 3 Hours

Part 1: Economics of India & Chhattisgarh

  • National income, fiscal policy, banking, economic reforms
  • State finances, rural development, cooperative credit

Part 2: Geography of India

  • Physical and human geography, agriculture, minerals, energy
  • Industrial development and resource mapping

Part 3: Geography of Chhattisgarh

  • Topography, climate, drainage, natural resources
  • Demography, agriculture, industry, tourism

Paper VI – General Studies IV

Marks: 200 | Duration: 3 Hours

Part 1: Philosophy

  • Major Indian and Western philosophers
  • Ethical values in administration, secularism, tolerance
  • Philosophical traditions of Chhattisgarh saints and thinkers

Part 2: Sociology

  • Social institutions, stratification, social change
  • Social problems: inequality, anomie, alienation
  • Research methods and data collection tools

Part 3: Social Aspects of Chhattisgarh

  • Tribal society, customs, traditions, folk art, literature, music
  • Major festivals, archaeological sites, tourism, and social movements

Paper VII – General Studies V

Marks: 200 | Duration: 3 Hours

Part 1: Welfare, Development Programmes & Laws

  • Key welfare legislation (national and state-specific)
  • Chhattisgarh’s welfare schemes and developmental acts

Part 2: International & National Events and Sports

  • Major global institutions (UN, WTO, BRICS, SAARC, etc.)
  • National and international sports organizations and events

Part 3: Educational Institutions and Human Development

  • Role of educational bodies in nation-building
  • Higher education, vocational education, employability
  • Skill development and inclusive education
